Politics Made Clear
We are a nonpartisan publication of student opinion and analysis articles from Bellarmine College Prep in San Jose, California. Our goal is to spread the news, opinions and editorials on political issues, both locally and abroad. We aim to elevate the voices of the next generation of voters, activists, and politicians.
Issues involving San Jose, the greater Bay Area and California.
Focuses on the national legislature, White House and other areas of government in relation to itself, its population and the world in general.
International trade, global conflicts, geopolitics and other global events and occurences.
Politics is inherently ridiculous.
Tom joined the publication in 2020 and has focused on American politics from a left-wing perspective. He was promoted to co-leader in 2022. In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar and drawing.
Shae joined the review in 2022, bringing a right-wing perspective to the group. Alongside BPR, Shae shows his passion and interest in international relations as a captain of the policy debate team at Bellarmine College Preparatory.
While his attendance at BPR meetings has been casual, David aptly criticizes the Democratic and Republican party establishments in his commentary. He is also a prolific woodworker, building four lawn chairs for the Bellarmine quad that have since been stolen.
Abhijay joined BPR in 2022 with the intent of educating contributors and readers more about Indian politics. Abhijay is a rap connoisseur, citing his roots in Naperville, Illinois as the catalyst for his passion.
Ilesh entered the publication in 2022 while obsessively monitoring the midterm elections. When C-SPAN gets too dry for him, he listens to the music of AJR and Lana Del Ray.
Neil entered Bellarmine's political arena in 2022 as both an extemporaneous speaker and political advocate. Like his older brother (A former BPR leader), Neil's positivity illuminates otherwise stygian rooms.
Andrés first spoke at a BPR meeting in 2022, bringing knowledge of international affairs with confidence most freshmen could only dream of. Outside of political discourse, he enjoys playing War Thunder.
Aidan joined the BPR this year with a newfound dedication and commitment to political discourse. Though he occasionally wastes his time viewing WebToons, his astute commentary earned him a leadership role for the 2024-2025 school year.
In addition to leading Bellarmine's conservative advocacy group, the Lincoln Society, Himmat has established himself in BPR as an outspoken maverick on issues like Khalistan and electoral politics. He is quite popular with the junior class on the debate team.
Joining the club as a former middle school speech & debater, Samuel could have easily rested on his laurels and descended into mediocrity. However, he penned multiple articles and established himself as a bright young political mind in a sea of ignorance and apathy.
As a freshman, Vedant showed strong commitment and wonky topic knowledge on global trade and politics. Assuming this isn't just for a college application, he will go far in the world of political discourse.
